Suge Knight Says Diddy Deserves Prison for Abusing Cassie

In a rare and scathing public statement, Suge Knight, co-founder of the legendary Death Row Records, didn’t hold back on his opinion of Sean “Diddy” Combs amid the Bad Boy mogul’s federal trial.

Speaking from California’s Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, where he is serving a 28-year sentence, Knight told PEOPLE that Diddy “deserves to go to prison” for abusing singer Cassie — a woman who has become a focal point in the explosive allegations against the hip hop icon.

“I never said he should walk away a free man. He does deserve [prison],” Knight said. “No one should disrespect a woman like that. I think everyone should be held accountable — even myself.”

Suge’s Powerful Take on Abuse: Accountability for All

Knight made it clear that his stance is about justice and accountability — not favoritism or exceptions.

“Anybody who does those horrible things to women deserves their issue,” he stressed.

The blunt honesty is notable coming from Knight, a man with a controversial past who has faced his own battles with the law and accusations of violence.

But when it comes to Diddy, Knight is unequivocal: the alleged abuse of Cassie is unacceptable.

The Infamous Video: What Suge Knight Saw That Changed Everything

The issue blew up publicly after a disturbing video surfaced showing Diddy allegedly dragging and abusing Cassie.

“I had never really seen a woman get dragged, beaten, and disrespected like that before,” Knight revealed. “When he came around that corner, Puffy did beat the dog shit out of her.”

Knight described how deeply disturbed he was by the footage and reiterated his belief that no man should hit a woman — especially not in such a violent manner.

“It bothers me. I’m far from an angel, but simple facts: Cassie and these women can’t beat a man up. I don’t believe no woman want someone pissing on them or their mouth,” Knight said bluntly.

A Call for Truth: Suge Urges Diddy to “Man Up” in Court

Looking beyond the allegations, Suge Knight suggested that Diddy’s best path forward would be to take the stand and tell the truth about what happened.

“You know how big that would be if he told the truth? At the end of the day, this trial — everybody’s watching. Why not make this a healing process?” Knight said.

“So, if I can man up… Puffy, don’t be a bitch, my n***a. Go in there and man up.”

Knight’s words are striking — a challenge from a fellow rap industry veteran and former adversary urging Diddy to face his demons head-on.

Suge Knight’s Past Casts a Shadow Over His Words

It’s impossible to discuss Suge Knight’s commentary without acknowledging his own troubled history.

Knight has long been a controversial figure in hip hop, infamous for violent behavior and legal troubles.

He is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence for a fatal hit-and-run accident in 2015.

But Knight’s willingness to speak out on Diddy’s alleged abuse — despite his own violent past — adds a complex layer to the conversation around accountability in hip hop culture.

Michel’le’s Story: A Troubling Pattern of Abuse in Diddy’s Past

The abuse allegations against Diddy don’t stop with Cassie.

Singer Michel’le — a former girlfriend of Knight and an influential R&B artist — has publicly accused Knight of abusing her during their relationship.

“One of the craziest things he ever did was when he tried to hit me,” Michel’le said in a candid interview.

She described a violent incident where Knight slapped her so hard that it dislocated her jaw, requiring emergency medical attention.

“I had to finally call him and say, ‘You’re gonna have to come take me to the emergency,’” Michel’le recalled. “It was either that or the police was gonna have to take me.”

This history of abuse within the hip hop community shines a harsh light on how violence and power have long been entangled behind the scenes.

The Diddy Trial Continues: What’s Next?

As Diddy’s trial presses on, the voices piling up against him — from accusers to industry insiders like Suge Knight — are fueling public interest and intense debate.

The allegations against the hip hop mogul include:

    • Sex trafficking
    • Racketeering conspiracy
    • Coercion and emotional abuse
    • Physical violence

Diddy has denied all accusations, maintaining his innocence through his legal team.

But with mounting evidence and eyewitness testimony, including disturbing videos and personal accounts, the trial is one of the most watched and talked-about cases in entertainment history.

What Does This Mean for Hip Hop’s Culture of Silence?

The outspoken words from Suge Knight and others are part of a growing reckoning in the hip hop world.

For decades, abusive behavior and toxic masculinity have been dismissed or hidden behind fame, money, and influence.

Now, with high-profile trials and brave testimonies, the culture is beginning to change — forcing artists, producers, and fans to confront difficult truths.

    ???? What’s Your Take?

Do you think Suge Knight’s call for Diddy to “man up” will change the outcome?

How should the hip hop community address abuse allegations in its ranks?
