Ja Rule has kicked off 2025 with a cheeky declaration that has fans buzzing across social media. The veteran rapper announced his New Year’s resolution in a post that read, “My New Year resolution is to be PETTY…” sparking a mix of amusement and debate among his followers.

A Leap Year Retort

While many fans embraced the humor, one commenter told Ja to “grow up.” The rapper’s witty response—“I’m technically 12. I can be as petty as I want”—was a clever nod to his February 29 Leap Day birthday. His playful attitude set the tone for what’s shaping up to be an entertaining year for his followers.

Revisiting an Old Feud

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Ja Rule moment without a nod to his longstanding beef with 50 Cent. A fan reignited the infamous “bought-out concert tickets” rumor, where 50 Cent claimed to have purchased hundreds of seats at one of Ja’s shows to leave them empty. Ja didn’t hold back, dismissing the story with a fiery retort: “You believe this dumb nonsense? Like I said before, I’ve got 10k for ANYONE who can produce footage, photos, or even tell me what city or venue this supposedly happened in. @50cent is a fat f***ing LIAR.”

50 Cent’s Version of Events

The feud took another twist as 50 Cent recently doubled down on the story during an interview with Big Boy. “I did [buy Ja Rule’s tickets]. They were cheap. The tickets were very affordable—on StubHub. I bought the first four rows,” he said, laughing. “I just wanted him to feel like he had to reach the people sitting four or five rows back. It wasn’t a big deal. I’ve spent more on less meaningful things. Watching those empty seats reserved for someone else? That was fun.”

Ja Rule Calls It a Fabrication

Ja Rule has repeatedly dismissed the tale as a fabrication. In 2019, when 50 Cent first made the claim, Ja took to social media to call him out: “This [clown face emoji] 50 Cent is a pathological LIAR. I’ll cash app 10 bands to ANYBODY with pics or footage of this supposed show. Y’all believe anything goofy they tell you.”

Speaking to HipHopDX about the rumors, Ja mocked the notion further: “Everything is on video nowadays. Come on, man. Stop with the foolery!” He also highlighted the logistical flaw in 50’s claim. “Even if it were true, all you did was put money in my pocket. What do you think the promoter would do? Leave it empty? Nah, they’d let people in for free or sell those seats again!”

Fans Await Ja Rule’s Next Move

Despite decades in the spotlight, Ja Rule’s ability to stay relevant—whether through music or playful antics—remains strong. His unapologetic embrace of “pettiness” promises plenty of entertaining moments for fans in the year ahead.

As the feud with 50 Cent continues to simmer, fans are left wondering what level of pettiness Ja Rule might unleash next. One thing’s for sure: 2025 is off to a spicy start for the rapper.
