Cardi B brought her biggest hits to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series, delivering a stripped-down performance that packed eight songs into less than 20 minutes.
The rapper appeared to enjoy every moment of the set, performing with a live band in the intimate studio setting. The performance gave her songs a different feel from their usual recorded versions while keeping the energy focused on her music and personality.
Among the tracks Cardi performed were “Up” and “Bodak Yellow,” two of the hits that helped establish her place in mainstream hip-hop. She closed the set with “I Like It,” her chart-topping collaboration that blends hip-hop with Latin influences.
Cardi wore black leather pants and a blazer for the appearance, performing behind the signature Tiny Desk as musicians filled the space around her.
The setup was anything but minimal in sound. A full band accompanied the rapper, featuring bass, piano, guitar, drums, saxophone and trumpet, alongside background vocalists.

Despite the number of musicians squeezed into the compact room, Cardi remained the focal point throughout the performance.
The Tiny Desk format is known for bringing artists into a smaller, more intimate environment, often reimagining familiar songs with live instrumentation. Cardi’s appearance brought that approach to her catalogue of high-energy rap hits.
The set also offered a chance to hear tracks such as “Bodak Yellow,” “Up” and “I Like It” in a live arrangement rather than their standard studio production.
The performance adds another notable live appearance to Cardi’s music career, with the rapper bringing her signature delivery to a format built around close-up performances and live musicianship.
For fans, the combination of familiar hits, a full band and Cardi’s onstage personality made the session a fresh way to revisit some of her best-known songs.
