Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter, are mourning the devastating loss of their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona.
The family confirmed Fiona’s death to TMZ, describing the teenager as a loving, smart and creative young girl who loved to dance.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the family said in a statement.
UPDATE — 9:00 p.m. PT: Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Fiona died at home Tuesday. Authorities were called to the residence at approximately 12:10 a.m.
The family remembered Fiona as “the light of our lives,” adding that she was adored by her sisters and deeply loved by her parents.
They described her death as devastating for the entire family and asked for prayers and privacy as they grieve.
Fiona was born in November 2012 and was one of Chad and Kim’s three daughters.
The tragedy comes after a difficult period for the Lowe family.
Chad previously revealed that the family’s home was destroyed in the Pacific Palisades fire. He later shared photos of Fiona and her sisters returning to see what remained of the home where they had grown up.
Chad, the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe, and Kim have been married since 2010.
Fiona’s death marks an immense loss for the family, who are now asking for space as they mourn the teenager they described as deeply loved and full of creativity.
Fiona was 13.
