D4vd’s Hollywood Hills Home Had Security Cameras Before Celeste Rivas Death

Hollywood Hills, CA – The rental home where singer D4vd was living is under intense scrutiny after the tragic death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, and the property comes equipped with a full security camera system capturing everyone who enters or exits, the homeowner tells TMZ.

Malden Trifunovic, the owner of the home rented by D4vd’s manager, Josh Marshall, says the cameras were installed years before Josh signed the lease in February 2024 for $20,000 a month. The cameras cover key points, including the entryways, backyard, and the street, creating a full perimeter that Trifunovic believes makes it impossible for anyone to go in or out without being recorded.

“I don’t see how anyone could come or go without being on camera,” he said.

This detail is especially relevant as LAPD searches the home for traces of blood, investigating the possibility that Celeste may have been killed inside the house.

    How the System Works

Trifunovic clarifies that he does not have access to the camera feeds to avoid making tenants feel monitored. Tenants are given the security company’s info, and they set up their own accounts to access the footage.

“I’ve only spoken to Josh a few times since he moved in. I didn’t even know D4vd was living there,” Trifunovic said.

Although Trifunovic hasn’t been updated by LAPD on whether police have accessed the footage, he assumes authorities would have obtained the videos as part of the investigation.

    LAPD Investigation

Celeste’s death has drawn national attention after her chopped-up, decomposing body was found in D4vd’s Tesla, abandoned near the Hollywood Hills property. Investigators are now scouring surrounding areas for additional video evidence that could identify the driver and potentially break the case.

Trifunovic noted that while he has no knowledge of whether Celeste ever visited the home, there are several links between D4vd and the teen, including matching tattoos, song lyrics, and photos/videos showing them together, as previously reported by TMZ.

Police have already searched the home for blood evidence, and the area where the Tesla was found is under investigation.

    Lease Termination

Trifunovic says he recently spoke with Josh Marshall about ending the lease, with plans for all property to be removed by the end of the week. He reiterated that his involvement is purely as a landlord and that he had no idea D4vd was living there until the investigation drew public attention.

“We agreed it was best to break the lease. That’s all I know,” Trifunovic said.

    Community Shock

Neighbors and local residents have expressed shock and grief over Celeste’s death. The presence of high-tech security cameras at the property could prove vital in providing law enforcement with critical evidence in this ongoing, high-profile case.

Authorities have not publicly named a suspect, and the investigation remains active.
