Drake is shutting down speculation that he fathered fellow singer Keshia Chanté’s unborn child.
The rapper’s representative has called the rumors completely false after Chanté announced Tuesday that she is expecting a baby boy.
Chanté revealed her pregnancy in an interview with Hello!, where she posed for a maternity shoot and shared details about becoming a mother. She did not publicly identify the father.
The Canadian singer did, however, suggest on social media that the child’s father is involved in the music industry.
That was enough for Drake’s name to quickly enter the conversation.
Chanté and Drake have been friends for years, and social-media users began connecting the two based largely on their longstanding friendship and her comments about the father working in music.
Drake’s representatives are now putting that speculation to rest.
The Agency Group, which represents the rapper, told TMZ they “completely and unequivocally” deny the “inaccurate” rumors.
Drake is already a father to one child, his son Adonis, whom he shares with Sophie Brussaux. Adonis turns 9 next week.
Brussaux married over the summer, while Drake has continued to keep much of his romantic life relatively private.
The rapper did recently spark dating speculation involving social-media personality Pinkchyu, who has been described as Drake’s “goth baddie” connection.
But when it comes to Chanté’s pregnancy, Drake’s camp says there is no mystery to solve on his end.
Chanté has not publicly named the father of her baby, leaving that detail private for now. What is clear is that Drake’s representative is firmly rejecting the internet speculation linking him to the pregnancy.
So, despite the social-media theories, Drake apparently won’t be adding another baby announcement to his résumé anytime soon.
