GloRilla Speaks Out After Home Invasion Leads to Felony Charges

Memphis rap star GloRilla is finally telling her side of a shocking ordeal that transformed her from a victim into a defendant. In her first in-depth interview since the incident, the rapper recounted the late-night home invasion that led to criminal charges against her.

“I feel like me, and my brother and sister, we were victims in this situation… but somehow, they’re trying to paint us out to be suspects, and I just feel like it’s all the way wrong,” GloRilla told Channel 2’s Michael Seiden.

    What Happened During the Break-In

The frightening episode occurred two months ago while GloRilla was performing in Indianapolis for WNBA All-Star Weekend. Back at her Forsyth County residence, three armed intruders forced their way into her home, stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of valuables.

A family member inside responded by firing shots at the intruders, forcing them to flee before authorities arrived.

    From Victim to Defendant

Shockingly, the aftermath took a turn that left GloRilla frustrated and bewildered. During the investigation, authorities discovered a large amount of marijuana in the home and charged her with felony possession, despite her being the victim of the robbery. She voluntarily surrendered and was briefly detained before posting bond the same day.

Her attorney, Drew Findling, criticized the handling of the case:

“The most egregious part is that there seems to be no movement whatsoever in this home invasion, but rather, within 24 hours, there were warrants for her arrest for a marijuana possession case. That’s unconscionable.”

Findling emphasized that more than $700,000 in property was stolen, yet authorities focused on minor charges instead of pursuing the armed suspects.

    Fighting for Justice and Reputation

GloRilla and her legal team are now exploring their own investigation into the break-in, determined not only to recover stolen property but also to reclaim her reputation.

“It’s about making sure people know the truth,” GloRilla said. “We want accountability for the robbery and fairness for the way this situation was handled.”

The rapper’s story has highlighted broader concerns about criminal justice and how victims can sometimes be treated as suspects, sparking conversations about accountability, fairness, and public perception.

What are your thoughts on GloRilla’s ordeal? Should authorities have prioritized the home invasion over marijuana charges? Drop your comments below and stay tuned to The Pop Radar (TPR) for updates.
