Christine responded directly to the sender, expressing disappointment over the message.
“Whoever sent this to my home, may the good Lord have mercy on your soul.”
She said the sender had been willing to mail the message but did not include a return address.
Christine described herself and Elmore as grieving parents who were simply trying to understand what happened to their son and accepted support from people helping them search for answers.
She ended her response with a message directed at the anonymous sender.
“Please go touch some grass.”
The family has not identified who sent the letter.
