Playboi Carti gave Rolling Loud Miami fans a glimpse of his highly anticipated album I AM MUSIC during his headlining performance on Sunday, December 15—but it left many wanting more.

The Atlanta rapper had promised to debut the long-awaited project during the festival’s 10th-anniversary celebration. While he previewed several tracks, including collaborations with F1LTHY, Mike Dean, and Metro Boomin, fans hoping for a full album reveal walked away craving something more substantial.

    A Night of Teasers

Carti’s set featured an exciting lineup of unreleased material, including a track with The Weeknd and a closing song titled “Drugs Got Me Numb.” Adding to the hype, the rapper shared a snippet of a collaboration with Travis Scott on his @opium_00pium Instagram account.

The anticipation had been building for months, with Carti sporadically sharing loose tracks on social media. In November, he further fueled excitement by declaring, “MIAMI TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY. I AM MUSIC WILL B PLAYED. KANT WAIT TO SEE YAL MFS NAH FR.”

Industry Buzz Surrounds I AM MUSIC

Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif stoked the excitement ahead of the event. In an Instagram video shared on the day of Carti’s performance, Cherif revealed details about the project and teased its features.

“When I got back from Thailand, Playboi Carti called me,” Cherif said. “We talked about the album, and he said, ‘Yo, I’m playing that s### at Rolling Loud.’ You saw him post it. I don’t know what he’s gonna do, but he told you he’s gonna play that s###.”

Cherif, who heard parts of the album during a FaceTime call, couldn’t hold back his enthusiasm. “That s### sounded amazing,” he said. “He’s got another one with a certain someone, and OUUUUU, that s### is crazy.”

    Fans Left Wanting More

Despite the buzz and exclusive previews, many fans expressed disappointment over the absence of a full album release. The set, while showcasing Carti’s evolving artistry, felt more like a series of teasers than a definitive unveiling of I AM MUSIC.

The anticipation continues to grow as fans speculate on the album’s official release date. For now, Carti’s brief glimpses into his latest work have left listeners eager to experience the full scope of his creative vision.

    What’s Next for Playboi Carti?

With I AM MUSIC generating significant intrigue, Playboi Carti remains at the forefront of the rap conversation. Whether it’s through cryptic social media posts or surprise appearances, the enigmatic artist knows how to keep his fans on edge. As they wait for the full project, the promise of what’s to come keeps the hype alive.
