Lil Wayne’s 2008 hit “Lollipop” is one of his most iconic songs, spending nearly five non-consecutive weeks atop the US Billboard Hot 100 and becoming a defining track of his career. Featuring contributions from the late singer and producer Static Major, the track remains a fan favorite. However, Pleasure P, a former Pretty Ricky member, has come forward claiming he co-wrote the song and has not received proper recognition or royalties.
In an emotional Instagram video, Pleasure P shared his frustrations while “Lollipop” played in the background. “Wayne and Mack Maine, I need my f**king plaque for this song,” he said, addressing Lil Wayne and Young Money President Mack Maine. He added, “Rex got my publishing, and his name is on this record, but I can’t get my just due?”
Pleasure P went on to explain that he co-wrote the track with Static Major before releasing his debut album. “I ain’t kill nobody, I ain’t crash out. I just hope the right people will hear this. I’m 40 now—just give me what I deserve, bro,” he said, expressing a desire to resolve the matter peacefully.
He also revealed the emotional toll of being overlooked for one of Lil Wayne’s biggest records. “I’m a part of his biggest record. It did 1.3 million in the first week, and I haven’t been able to celebrate that. I just want my money. It’s $28 million I ain’t get.”
“Lollipop” was released posthumously for Static Major, who tragically passed away at the age of 33 due to medical complications. While the track honored Static Major’s memory, Pleasure P feels that he, too, deserves acknowledgment for his contributions to what many consider Lil Wayne’s magnum opus.

Understand, man, I don’t want no violence,” he says. “My son just got outta jail, like I ain’t got time for that sh*t no more. I’m 40 now; just give me what I deserve, bro. I don’t got time no more.” Pleasure then commended Lil Wayne for squashing beef between him and the Hot Boyz. “But I’m a part of his biggest record. [It] [did] 1.3 million the first week, and I haven’t been able to celebrate that. I just want my money. It’s 28 million I ain’t get.”

Unfortunately, like Pleasure P, Static Major didn’t reap any of its benefits. Static Major, real name Stephen Garrett, died at the age of 33 in Louisville, Kentucky, due to medical complications from a procedure. The track was released after his death in honor of his memory.
