    Randolph Mantooth, the actor best known for his unforgettable role as paramedic John Gage on the classic television series “Emergency!,” has died at the age of 80.

    Mantooth’s brother, Donald Mantooth, confirmed to TMZ that the actor died peacefully Thursday at a hospice facility in Ventura, California, surrounded by friends and family.

    According to his brother, Mantooth had battled several types of cancer over the years, beginning with throat cancer. He said the illnesses eventually took a significant toll on the actor’s health.
