Raz B was desperately pleading for help during a 911 call after finding his 3-month-old son, Astro Monte Thornton, unresponsive at the family’s Atlanta home.
TMZ obtained the emergency call from the morning Astro died, with the B2K singer immediately telling the dispatcher that his son was not breathing.
“My son died. My son is not breathing,” Raz told the operator.
As the dispatcher worked to confirm the family’s address and Astro’s age, Raz repeatedly urged emergency crews to hurry.
When asked whether the baby was breathing, Raz responded, “No, ma’am, he’s not breathing. I think he’s dead.”
The call became increasingly emotional as Raz explained that CPR was already being performed.
At one point, he told the dispatcher, “I’m his father. We’re performing CPR. There’s nothing else to know,” expressing frustration as he waited for emergency help.
Raz could also be heard repeatedly encouraging those around him not to give up.
“Don’t give up,” he said, before expressing disbelief over what was happening.
As previously reported, Astro was pronounced dead at the family’s Atlanta residence.
Authorities have said there were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play in the infant’s death. His cause of death remains pending.
The newly released 911 call provides a firsthand account of the frantic moments surrounding the emergency, with Raz desperately trying to get help for his son.
