Ruby Rose is opening up about a deeply disturbing experience from her teenage years, saying she was labeled “Baby Killer” by classmates after discovering an injured 4-year-old who later died.
The actress shared the story on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast, released Tuesday, while recalling an incident that happened when she was 15.
Rose said she had secretly left a party with a friend to smoke her first cigarette when they noticed an unusual shape in the bushes near a playground.

The two teenagers went to investigate and, according to Rose, discovered a badly injured 4-year-old boy. She said they picked him up and carried him back toward the house where the party was taking place, prompting adults there to begin performing CPR.
The child was taken to a hospital, but Rose said he ultimately died.
The incident then followed Rose back to school. She said police came to speak with her about what had happened and ultimately determined that she had done nothing wrong.
That did not stop rumors from spreading among her peers.
Rose recalled being called “Baby Killer” by classmates, turning an already traumatic experience into something she says she continued to face socially.
The actress also said the child’s brother experienced dissociative amnesia following the incident. According to Rose, he later remembered what happened and spoke with police.
Rose said the child’s family did not want her to attend the funeral.
The story offers a glimpse into a part of Rose’s life she has rarely discussed publicly. In recent years, she has stepped back from Hollywood, although she is now appearing in a different setting as a contestant on Fox’s “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.”
Rose’s account on the podcast centers on what she says happened when she was 15, and on the consequences of being associated with a child’s death despite police determining she was not responsible.
