Rapper Sexyy Red is at the center of a growing legal battle after a reported burglary at a Florida mansion led to the theft of luxury items worth over half a million dollars.

According to court documents, the incident took place during a birthday retreat she hosted for her mother in January 2025, where she had rented a mansion for the celebration.

What was meant to be a private family gathering allegedly turned into a major security failure — and now, a courtroom dispute.

And the details behind the break-in are raising even more questions…

    How The Alleged Burglary Happened

Sexyy Red claims she hired a security guard to protect the property during the festivities.

However, on January 12, a masked individual reportedly entered the mansion through an unlocked door and carried out the burglary.

The rapper alleges that a range of luxury items were stolen, including necklaces, rings, bracelets, watches, charms, and designer handbags — totaling no less than $500,000 in value.

According to the lawsuit, police later determined that a door had been left unlocked at the time of the incident.

And then the situation took a more complicated turn…

Security Guard Blamed In Legal Filing

Sexyy Red is now pointing fingers at the security team she hired for the event.

In the lawsuit, she specifically references security guard Carl Thompson, alleging that he was responsible for securing the property and was the last person to leave before the break-in occurred.

She is now seeking more than $500,000 in damages, claiming negligence led to the loss.

The case has escalated into a full legal dispute between both parties.

But this is not the first time legal filings have been exchanged…

    Previous Lawsuit From Security Guard

The legal drama actually began months earlier when Carl Thompson filed his own lawsuit against Sexyy Red and her team.

He claimed he was hired in May 2023 as her personal security guard for $180,000 per year and worked until December 2024.

According to his filing, he was paid $204,000 but believed he was still owed an additional $81,000.

That lawsuit set the stage for the current countersuit, with both sides now accusing each other of wrongdoing.

And things are far from being resolved…

    Counterclaims And Ongoing Dispute

Sexyy Red has denied allegations that she underpaid the security guard and has instead shifted responsibility back onto him.

Her countersuit directly links him to the alleged negligence that led to the burglary.

The case remains ongoing, with both sides standing firm on their claims.

The internet had thoughts as the legal back-and-forth continues to gain attention across entertainment and legal circles.

    Bigger Questions Around Celebrity Security

Beyond the courtroom drama, the situation highlights ongoing concerns around celebrity security, especially during private events held at rented properties.

A single lapse in protocol — such as an unlocked door — can lead to significant financial and reputational consequences.

For high-profile figures like Sexyy Red, the stakes are even higher.

What began as a family celebration has turned into a high-stakes legal battle.

    A luxury mansion.

    A missing $500,000 in valuables.

And a dispute over who is truly responsible for the breakdown in security.

As the case continues, both sides remain locked in a courtroom fight that shows no signs of slowing down.
