YesJulz Overcomes Fear to Perform First Original Song

YesJulz, best known for her affiliation with Ye and her work as a media personality, added singer-songwriter to her resume last week. During Miami’s annual Art Basel event, she performed her first original song at the private anOnlyChild event, marking a milestone in her career. On Wednesday, December 11, Julz shared a video of her performance on social media, accompanied by a heartfelt “thank you” caption.

    Stepping Into the Spotlight

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), YesJulz expressed her excitement and pride. “I finally got over my fear of singing in front of people & actually performed a song I wrote and produced for the first time ever at Art Basel last week,” she tweeted. “Very proud of how far I’ve come to get here.”

She elaborated further on Instagram, thanking the event’s organizers and her supporters. “It’s never too late to do that one thing you’ve always wanted to do. Just get out of your own way & believe in yourself,” she wrote. Julz also revealed plans for her next performance, a full set scheduled for January 8 at one of her favorite Miami venues, with details to be announced soon.

    Looking Ahead

Reflecting on her journey, YesJulz expressed gratitude to those who supported her along the way, including her voice and piano teacher, Johanna Ortega. “Sorry it took me this long to put [your lessons] to use,” she wrote. “I love you so much!” With her next performance on the horizon, Julz seems determined to continue exploring her musical ambitions.
