Young Thug Throws Subtle Shots at Gunna Amid Uncertain Friendship
Young Thug is finally speaking out — though cryptically — about his current relationship with Gunna.
In a recent interview, Thug was asked directly, “What’s that relationship like now?” His response was brief but telling:
“I know everybody’s wondering that… I don’t know.”
While Thug kept his answer vague, fans believe his real feelings have already been made clear through his music.
Subtle Shots at Gunna on New Album Uy Scuti?
Speculation intensified after the release of Thug’s latest project, Uy Scuti, particularly the track “Money On Money” featuring Future.
On the song, Thug appears to take veiled shots at Gunna, rapping:
“These f*** n****s tellin’ for nothin’, and I gotta be the one callin’ ’em friends.”
“Brother, you a rat (my brother).” — followed by, “Twin, you a rat, you smoked, uh.”
The lyrics have fueled rumors that Thug feels betrayed following Gunna’s controversial plea deal in the ongoing YSL RICO case, which some fans believe indirectly implicated Thug and other YSL members.
Gunna’s Perspective: “It’s Love, Always”
In a previous interview, Gunna addressed the swirling “snitching” accusations and the perceived fallout with Young Thug.
Gunna argued that much of the public had been “misled” about the situation:
“I definitely feel like everybody’s been misled. When you’re being misled, you have a choice: to follow or to make your own decisions. And that’s what’s being shown right now.”
He also emphasized that, from his perspective, there’s no bad blood:
“Our relationship is our relationship. It’s the same. It’s love, always.”
What’s Next for Thug and Gunna?
Despite Gunna’s public statements of loyalty, Young Thug’s cryptic response — paired with his pointed lyrics — suggests a deeper rift may exist between the former collaborators.
Whether their friendship can survive the storm remains to be seen, but for now, it seems the once unbreakable YSL bond has been fractured.
