A Surprise Like No Other
On the latest episode of Unapologetically Angel, Reese invited her mother, Angel Webb Reese—affectionately known as “Mama Angel”—to the show. Expecting a casual conversation, Mama Angel had no idea she was about to receive a life-changing surprise.
The mother-daughter duo discussed topics such as basketball, family, and life in general. Then, Reese smoothly transitioned into the surprise gift that left her mother speechless.
A Birthday to Remember
“Well, it’s your birthday today,” Reese said as a cake was brought out to celebrate.
Before they could even sing “Happy Birthday,” Reese delivered the shocking news. “You said that if your mortgage was paid off, you would retire or you wouldn’t work,” she reminded her mother. “You can pick if you want to work still, but your mortgage today has been paid.”
Mama Angel, overwhelmed with emotion, nearly dropped the cake and needed assistance to process what had just happened.
“Are you serious?” she asked, visibly moved by her daughter’s generosity. Reese then took a moment to acknowledge her team for helping make it all possible.
A Dream Fulfilled
“That was my biggest goal in life—to retire you and pay your mortgage,” Reese said. “You’re a hard-working woman, you don’t need me for no money.”
Adding to the moment, Reese revealed that she was also purchasing a house in Chicago, letting her mother know she would always have a place to stay whenever she wanted.
