Young Thug Slams Gunna’s New Album: “Nobody Wanna Hear That”

The tension between Young Thug and Gunna is heating up again—and this time, it’s over music.
Just days before Gunna’s sixth studio album, The Last Wun, is set to drop, Thug took to X (formerly Twitter) to make it clear how he really feels.

“Nobody wunna hear that sh*t..” Thug wrote bluntly.

And just like that, the simmering tension between the former YSL labelmates is back in the spotlight.

Gunna’s Final YSL Album Drops August 8

The Last Wun, which releases August 8, is set to be Gunna’s final project under the YSL label—the same label embroiled in legal chaos and public fallout since the RICO indictment that took down much of the Young Stoner Life camp in 2022.

This project follows his earlier 2024 album One of Wun, which marked a clear sonic and lyrical shift for the rapper amid rising controversy.

Fans were already speculating whether this next album would serve as Gunna’s closure with YSL, but now Thug’s explosive post has thrown gasoline on an already flaming situation.

“What’s That Relationship Like Now?” — The Unanswered Question

In a previous interview, Young Thug was directly asked about where things stand with Gunna.
    His cryptic response?

    “I know everybody’s wondering that… I don’t know.”

That ambiguity left the internet speculating. And now, with Thug’s latest post, fans think we finally have the answer: There’s definitely bad blood.

    ️ Gunna Responds—Kind Of

Gunna has previously opened up about the public’s perception of his relationship with Thug, particularly around the “snitching” narrative that’s followed him since taking a plea deal in the YSL RICO case.

“I definitely feel like everybody’s been misled,” Gunna said in an earlier interview.
“When you’re being misled, you got a choice: follow or think for yourself.”

He stopped short of directly addressing Young Thug’s feelings, but he made it clear:

“Our relationship is our relationship. It’s love—always.”

Still, that statement feels harder to believe with Thug publicly dissing his music just days before its release.

Fans React: “Thug Ain’t Holding Back”

Social media lit up following Thug’s post. On X, fans quickly took sides, with many pointing out the obvious strain in what was once a close brotherhood between the two Atlanta stars.

    • “Damn. That Thug post about Gunna’s album is wild.” – @rapcaviarhub
    • “He said ‘Nobody wunna hear that’ and it hit like a diss track.” – @atlblogz
    • “Gunna talking about love, Thug talking about silence.” – @theshaderoomtea

⚖️ The YSL Fallout Still Cuts Deep

Let’s not forget: both Young Thug and Gunna were arrested as part of a sweeping RICO case targeting the YSL crew.
While Gunna accepted an Alford plea (a deal that doesn’t admit guilt but acknowledges sufficient evidence), he was released. Thug, meanwhile, remains incarcerated and is still awaiting trial.

That single moment fractured the YSL camp—and hip-hop’s opinion of Gunna has been divided ever since.

    Gunna’s Reinvention Post-YSL

Despite the noise, Gunna has continued releasing music, leaning heavily into a more introspective and emotionally nuanced sound. His last album, One of Wun, was praised for its vulnerability, addressing betrayal, loyalty, and survival—all through subtle bars that many believe were aimed at the YSL fallout.

The Last Wun is expected to double down on that message, possibly serving as a final statement as Gunna transitions away from the YSL imprint.

But with Thug firing shots right before release day, the focus has shifted from the music to the drama behind it.

    Can This Relationship Be Repaired?

At one time, Young Thug mentored Gunna, bringing him into the YSL fold and helping him blow up with hits like Drip Too Hard, Oh Okay, and Hot.
But the loyalty between them seems all but shattered.

Thug’s comment suggests that he no longer respects what Gunna’s doing—or maybe, who he’s become.

And Gunna’s calm, non-confrontational responses may hint that he’s moved on completely, both emotionally and musically.

What Does This Mean for YSL’s Legacy?

This moment feels like the final nail in the YSL era as we knew it.

With The Last Wun symbolizing Gunna’s departure, and Thug still caught in a high-stakes legal battle, the once-dominant YSL collective appears to be crumbling from the inside out.

Is The Last Wun a farewell to music under YSL—or a farewell to Thug and everything they once built together?

Only time—and maybe a few more Instagram comments—will tell.

    What’s Your Take?

Do you think Gunna and Thug can ever patch things up?
Will The Last Wun be Gunna’s redemption—or his final goodbye to the crew that made him?
