Connie Boss Alexander Fears Allison Holker’s Memoir Could Harm tWitch’s Legacy

Connie Boss Alexander, the mother of late dancer and DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss, has expressed concerns that Allison Holker’s upcoming memoir could tarnish her son’s legacy. In an exclusive interview with CBS Mornings’ Gayle King, Alexander addressed troubling allegations from Holker’s book, This Far, which she fears might diminish tWitch’s memory.

In a preview clip of the interview, Alexander said, “I’m not saying that my son was perfect. I do believe he had experiences where he tried this, that, or the other. But no, I don’t believe that there was that type of issue, that type of problem.” She emphasized her belief that tWitch’s struggles didn’t define his life in the way Holker’s memoir might suggest.

Holker’s Memoir Reveals Personal Details About tWitch
Holker’s memoir, which was released earlier this year, contains deeply personal revelations about her late husband. One of the more concerning disclosures was her claim that she found a variety of drugs, including mushrooms and pills, in tWitch’s personal belongings. In the wake of these revelations, Holker issued an apology on Instagram, clarifying that her “only intention” was to share her own story, including her experiences with tWitch. She acknowledged the difficulty in fully understanding the circumstances surrounding his death, adding, “Just like you, I never really knew what happened and even as I am trying to put the pieces together, I will never really know.”

    Mental Health Awareness and Legacy
Despite the concerns raised by the memoir’s contents, Alexander does support the message of mental health awareness. She stated, “I applaud speaking about mental health awareness because of course there was something going on there at the end that we were not aware of.” However, Alexander feels that the way the memoir handles these delicate topics could have been more thoughtful, saying, “If that was the intent of the book to make people aware, look out for these types of signs, there’s a way to say that in general without denigrating the memory and the legacy that he built.”

The Tragic Passing of Stephen tWitch Boss
On December 13, 2022, Stephen tWitch Boss tragically passed away from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the Oak Tree Inn motel in Encino, California. Alongside Holker, he left behind three children: 8-year-old Maddox, 4-year-old Zaia, and 16-year-old Weslie Renae, Holker’s daughter whom tWitch had adopted.

The Emotional Toll on tWitch’s Family
Connie Boss Alexander voiced the emotional toll that these revelations have had on her family, saying, “There’s now this question in the air when his name comes up and that bothers me.” She expressed a desire to protect tWitch’s legacy for the sake of his children and the lasting impact of his contributions to the entertainment world.
