A$AP Rocky has offered his blunt—and very humorous—take on the long-running conversation surrounding Tyler, the Creator’s sexuality.
During a recent appearance on “The Jason Lee Show,” Rocky was asked whether his longtime friend and collaborator was genuinely gay or had been carrying out an elaborate joke on the public for years.
Rocky did not appear interested in overcomplicating the question.
After Jason Lee pressed him on whether Tyler was simply “trolling,” Rocky responded with a blunt assessment of his friend, before comparing Tyler’s public behavior to the old “walk like a duck” saying.
The exchange added another layer to a conversation Tyler has kept deliberately open-ended for much of his career.
Rocky appeared on Jason Lee’s show and was asked directly about Tyler, the Creator’s sexuality and whether the rapper’s years of provocative comments could all be part of an elaborate troll.
Lee specifically questioned whether Tyler was “trolling” the public.
Rocky responded bluntly, saying, “That n**** gay, man.”
He then appeared to qualify the comment with humor, acknowledging that he had not personally witnessed anything involving Tyler while pointing to the rapper’s public persona and lyrics.
“Look, it walk like a duck, quack like a duck,” Rocky said, while also joking that Tyler “plays gay all day.”
The conversation came while Lee was discussing Rocky’s confidence and his willingness to associate with the LGBTQ+ community.
