Tiffany Haddish has reached a resolution in a Georgia DUI case that dates back more than four years.

The comedian and actress pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of DUI driving less safe in a Georgia court, ending the criminal case stemming from her January 2022 arrest.

Haddish, 46, entered the plea by video conference as part of a negotiated agreement with prosecutors.

Under the deal, prosecutors dropped the remaining charges, while the court sentenced Haddish to 12 months of probation and a 24-hour jail term.

Because Haddish had already spent a day in custody following her original arrest, the judge credited that time toward the sentence.

The resolution brings one of Haddish’s long-running legal matters to a close.

The Georgia case began in January 2022 in Fayetteville, a city south of Atlanta.

Police officers responded to reports of a driver who appeared to be asleep behind the wheel.

Haddish was subsequently arrested, beginning a legal process that remained unresolved for years.

On Tuesday, she appeared in court remotely and pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of DUI driving less safe.

The negotiated agreement allowed prosecutors to drop all other pending charges connected to the case.

The court imposed 12 months of probation along with a 24-hour jail sentence.

Because Haddish had already spent approximately a day in custody after her initial arrest, the judge gave her credit for time served.

That means the jail component of the sentence was accounted for through the time she had already spent behind bars.

The plea brings the Georgia proceedings to a conclusion without Haddish facing an additional period of incarceration in connection with the 2022 incident.

The case, however, is not the only DUI-related legal matter Haddish has faced in recent years.

In early 2024, she reached a separate plea agreement following a November 2023 arrest in Beverly Hills.

That California incident also involved officers finding her asleep in a vehicle.

The Georgia proceedings were separate from that California case, but the two incidents have formed part of a broader period of legal scrutiny surrounding Haddish.

During Tuesday’s proceedings, the Georgia court finalized the terms that will place Haddish under probation supervision for the next year.

The plea therefore provides a definitive legal outcome to a case that had remained open since her 2022 arrest.

Haddish has remained professionally active throughout the legal proceedings.

The Emmy and Grammy-winning entertainer became a major Hollywood star through stand-up comedy, television and films, including Girls Trip.

Her Georgia arrest occurred more than four years before Tuesday’s plea, making the case a lengthy legal saga.

The situation was followed by another driving-related arrest in Beverly Hills in November 2023.

In that case, Haddish entered a separate plea agreement in early 2024.

Haddish has also spoken publicly in the past about personal growth and sobriety as she has navigated challenges in her personal life.

The latest Georgia agreement does not erase the original arrest or allegations, but it does resolve the criminal case through a negotiated plea.

Rather than proceeding toward a trial, the case ended with Haddish accepting the DUI driving less safe charge.

The plea is significant because it closes a Georgia criminal case that had remained unresolved since 2022.

By accepting the negotiated agreement, Haddish avoids additional jail time beyond the 24-hour sentence for which she received credit for time already served.

The prosecutors also agreed to drop the other pending charges as part of the deal.

Her 12 months of probation now become the primary ongoing requirement from the Georgia case.

For Haddish, the resolution means one of the legal issues surrounding her can finally move into the rearview mirror while she continues her entertainment career.

Haddish has previously discussed personal growth and her efforts toward sobriety following a series of highly publicized legal challenges.

Tuesday’s proceedings add another chapter to that story, but the court outcome itself is straightforward: she accepted responsibility for one DUI charge, received credit for her previous custody time and will serve a year of probation.

The resolution allows her to move forward without an additional jail sentence connected to the Georgia incident.

Tiffany Haddish’s guilty plea resolves the Georgia DUI case that began with her 2022 arrest.

She will now serve 12 months of probation, with the court crediting her for the 24 hours she had already spent in custody.
