Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly returned to general population at his new federal prison in Pennsylvania after being placed in solitary confinement at his previous facility over alleged misconduct. The music mogul was transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood last week, according to information provided to TMZ by a representative of the federal prison employees’ union.
Jose Rojas, a union secretary representing Bureau of Prisons employees, told TMZ that Combs is currently housed in general population at Allenwood. The reported change comes after the rapper and music executive spent time in the Special Housing Unit, commonly known as the SHU, at Fort Dix.
Diddy’s representative, Juda Engelmayer, welcomed the news while emphasizing the importance of his client’s safety.
“If this information is accurate, we’re pleased to hear that Sean has returned to general population,” Engelmayer told TMZ. “His safety and well-being are always important to us, but we have no specific reason to believe he is at risk. We hope he can continue serving his time safely and without unnecessary disruption.”

The Bureau of Prisons has not independently confirmed Combs’ housing assignment. A spokesperson declined to comment on the specifics of his confinement, citing institutional privacy and security considerations.
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including housing assignments,” the agency told TMZ.
Allenwood also houses fewer inmates than Fort Dix, according to the supplied report. The Pennsylvania facility has approximately 1,000 inmates, compared with about 4,000 at the New Jersey prison. However, the available information does not establish whether the difference in population influenced Combs’ placement or transfer.
The Fort Dix violations behind the move
Combs spent nearly a year at Fort Dix, where he reportedly accumulated multiple disciplinary violations involving alleged fighting and the use of unauthorized cellphones.
Reports about his prison conditions also drew attention after NBC News described an alleged arrangement that included access to a contraband cellphone containing nude photographs, alcohol, massages and elaborate meals. Those details concern reported prison privileges and alleged rule violations, rather than independently confirmed accounts of every aspect of his confinement.
According to sources cited by TMZ, Combs also lost 41 days of good-time credit, which can reduce an eligible federal inmate’s time in custody, along with 400 days of commissary privileges.
The reported disciplinary issues preceded his placement in the SHU, a restrictive housing unit used for certain inmates, including those subject to disciplinary or security measures.

Diddy is serving a 50-month sentence
Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence following his 2025 conviction on two prostitution-related charges. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
His transfer to Allenwood represents a change in his reported housing status, but the Bureau of Prisons has not publicly verified the details of his current confinement.
For now, Combs’ representative says there is no specific reason to believe he faces a safety threat. Whether his new placement will remain unchanged is not established by the information currently available.
