Jay-Z is officially heading to the Super Bowl halftime stage for the first time in his career, taking on one of the biggest performance slots in global entertainment.
The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced on October 26 that the rap mogul will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The announcement was made during the Dallas CowboysâPhiladelphia Eagles Monday Night Football game. (NFL)
âThirty years of music, work, and culture on the worldâs biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true,â Jay-Z said in a statement, reflecting on his journey since releasing his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, in 1996.

Jay-Z Takes Over the Super Bowl Stage
The announcement marks a major moment for Jay-Z, who has helped shape the Super Bowlâs musical entertainment since Roc Nation partnered with the NFL in 2019 to advise on and produce the halftime show.
Now, the rapper is moving from behind-the-scenes influence to the center of the stage himself. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he had hoped Jay-Z would eventually perform, explaining that his original request was for the rapper to take the stage whenever the moment felt right.
The selection follows speculation about other potential headliners. TMZ previously reported that Justin Bieber and Harry Styles had been considered, while Miley Cyrus was also the subject of rumors. The official announcement, however, confirms Jay-Z as the featured performer. (TMZ)

Will Beyoncé Join Him?
One of the biggest unanswered questions is whether BeyoncĂ© will make a guest appearance during her husband’s performance.
The global superstar previously headlined the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in 2013 and appeared alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars during the 2016 Super Bowl halftime performance. Her participation in the 2027 show has not been announced, so any reunion onstage remains speculation.
Jay-Zâs appointment also comes during a year celebrating the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt. His recent concert run included performances at SoFi Stadium, the same venue set to host Super Bowl LXI.
With Jay-Z confirmed as the headliner, attention will now turn to his setlist, production plans and whether he will bring any surprise guests to the biggest stage in American football.
Super Bowl LXI is scheduled for February 14, 2027, with the halftime show set to reach a global audience. For Jay-Z, the performance represents a new chapter in a career that has spanned three decades across music, business and culture.
