Nicki Minaj may have found herself in the middle of an unexpected White House conversation ā but there is no indication she is actually being considered for the job.
The rapper’s name was floated as a possible replacement for White House press secretary Katie Zacharia after her reported firing, with two Trump administration figures publicly entertaining the idea on social media.
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung sparked the conversation after sharing a video of Minaj praising President Donald Trump’s international politics while aboard Air Force One.
āLadies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary!ā Cheung wrote.
The White House’s official X account responded with an eyes emoji, adding to the online speculation.
Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz then joined the conversation, asking Minaj’s fan base, known as the Barbz, what they thought about the suggestion.
Nicki Minaj Responds to the Suggestion
Minaj also reacted to the unexpected job pitch, posting an American flag emoji alongside a grinning face with a sweat emoji.
Her response added another layer to the social media exchange, although it did not establish whether she was seriously interested in the position.
The rapper appeared more focused on her experience aboard Air Force One. In a separate post on X, she shared a video showing the aircraft’s spacious interior, panning around as she took in the surroundings.
Is Nicki Minaj Really Being Considered?
For now, the press secretary talk appears to be social media speculation rather than a confirmed personnel decision.
Cheung’s comment, the White House account’s reaction and Bruesewitz’s post generated attention, but none of the interactions cited here confirms that Minaj has been offered the position or is formally under consideration.
Minaj was also scheduled to appear alongside Trump in Port Huron, Michigan, later that evening, according to the original report.
Whether the suggestion develops into anything more remains unclear. For now, the possibility of the rap superstar stepping behind the White House briefing-room podium remains an intriguing ā and unconfirmed ā talking point.
