Cardi B is hitting pause on the video for her BIA diss track “Pretty & Petty”, explaining she doesn’t want to appear as a bully. During a recent livestream, the Bronx rapper told fans she’s mindful of the stress that comes with dropping an album.
BIA just released her new project, Bianca, on Friday, October 10, while Cardi dropped Am I The Drama? in September. Cardi explained that releasing the diss video immediately could add unnecessary pressure for BIA.
“I know how stressful it is to put an album out and I know how f*ed up you be in the mind when you put an album out and st,” Cardi said. “So I feel like if I do a video to ‘Pretty & Petty as F**k’ this week or today, I feel like I would be bullying. I don’t wanna feel like a bully. Because when I bully, then God takes from me.”
Cardi’s Respectful Approach
She emphasized she’s letting BIA have her release day in peace:
“If the b*h ain’t messing with me and she didn’t sub me in her fking dusty a** album, I’m not gonna do a video… on a day that I know she’s stressed,” Cardi continued. “Because then God will punish me… I’mma be nice to you because it’s your album day. I don’t wanna add to your stress. I’m not that bad person that people think I am.”
Cardi’s comments show a more considerate side of the rapper, highlighting that even in the midst of public beefs, she’s thinking about timing and respect for fellow artists.
The Backstory: Cardi vs. BIA
The feud traces back to fan comparisons between BIA’s Really Her project and Cardi’s “Enough (Miami).” BIA discussed the tension in a recent Hot 97 interview, while Cardi responded on X Spaces, firing back:
“You’re not interesting enough for me to look at you. You’re not creative, your music is boring, everything about you is boring.”
Despite the fiery words, Cardi’s decision to hold off on the diss video shows she’s weighing public perception and the potential impact of releasing content during a competitor’s album drop.
Fans React
Fans on social media have praised Cardi for showing restraint, while others debate whether the delay adds more fuel to the feud. The conversation highlights how timing and respect play a role in celebrity rap battles.
