Charlamagne Blasts Trump with ‘Donkey of the Day’ Roast!

Donald Trump just got roasted on national radio — and not by a rival politician, but by one of hip-hop’s sharpest voices, Charlamagne Tha God.
The Breakfast Club host handed the former president his signature “Donkey of the Day” title this Monday, setting off a media firestorm after Trump’s heated comments in a recent interview with his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump.

️ Trump vs. Charlamagne: The Media Feud Nobody Saw Coming

It all began when Trump took a swipe at Charlamagne on Lara’s show, calling the popular radio personality a “sleazebag” and “racist”—seemingly in response to recent critiques about his policies and persona.

Charlamagne didn’t hold back in his response.
He fired up the mic Monday morning, blasting YG’s “FDT” (F*** Donald Trump) as the intro to his iconic “Donkey of the Day” segment, declaring:

“I didn’t even bring race into it — but here he goes, deflecting again.”

“Big Beautiful Bill” & Charlamagne’s Reluctant Benefit

Charlamagne admitted he personally benefits from Trump’s much-hyped “Big Beautiful Bill”, which includes major tax breaks for the wealthy. But he made it clear:

“Just because I benefit doesn’t mean I turn my back on the millions who don’t.”

He called Trump out for ignoring the broader American struggle, while pushing policies that leave everyday citizens behind.

Immigration, Job Loss & the Truth Behind Trump’s Claims

The segment didn’t stop at taxes. Charlamagne dove deeper into Trump’s controversial record, criticizing:

    • Homeland Security for detaining and deporting immigrants with lawful status
    • Trump’s firing of Erika McEntarfer, head of Labor Statistics, which he claims ironically increased the unemployment rate
    • Trump’s factually incorrect brag about ending five wars — including supposed peace in Congo and Rwanda, which multiple journalists and sources have flat-out denied

Charlamagne even brought Loren LoRosa on air to fact-check Trump’s claims in real time, turning the segment into a takedown and a teachable moment.

“Focus on the Economy & Epstein, Not Me”

In a sharp closing, Charlamagne made it clear that he doesn’t see Trump as his personal enemy—but he does expect accountability.

“I’m not your enemy, Mr. Trump. Focus on the two things America really cares about: the economy… and the Epstein files.”

Trump’s Next Move: Will He Clap Back?

Knowing Trump’s history, a response is almost guaranteed—probably via Truth Social, Fox News, or both. Whether it’s another name-drop or an angry rant, one thing’s for sure: this feud just went nuclear.

Social Media Is LIT Over the Showdown

Reactions across Twitter/X and Instagram have been wild:

    • “Charlamagne calling Trump ‘Donkey of the Day’ is peak 2024 energy.”
    • “When your petty and your politics align, you get this masterpiece.”
    • “Trump just got ethered by a radio host. This is real life?”

Bigger Than Shade: What This Really Means

This isn’t just media beef—it’s a clash of influence, where political power meets cultural commentary. Charlamagne has long held space as a truth-teller in hip-hop and Black media, and now he’s pushing into more direct political critique.

Meanwhile, Trump is running for office again, trying to woo young voters and media-savvy Americans.
    Spoiler: this probably didn’t help.

    Final Thought:
Trump may have billions and a bullhorn, but Charlamagne has the Breakfast Club mic—and when he says you’re the donkey of the day, the whole culture hears it.

What do you think—was Charlamagne spot-on or over the top? Should Trump respond or stay silent? Drop your hot takes in the comments and stay tuned to The Pop Radar for the next round in this media face-off!
