Diddy Scores a Legal Win as Attorney Tony Buzbee Steps Back from Federal Cases

Sean “Diddy” Combs just notched a legal victory as Tony Buzbee, the high-profile Texas attorney leading multiple sex trafficking lawsuits against him, withdraws from over a dozen cases in New York federal court.

    Why Is Buzbee Withdrawing?

According to new legal documents obtained by TMZ, Buzbee is removing himself from 15 lawsuits filed in the Southern District of New York (SDNY). The reason? He admits he is not yet admitted to practice law in SDNY—a fact Diddy’s legal team aggressively challenged last month.

In court filings, Buzbee told U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams, “I made an error in judgment by failing to inform you that I was not admitted to the Southern District.”

    Diddy’s Legal Team Pushed Back

Last month, Diddy’s attorneys argued that Buzbee had no legal standing to file cases in SDNY, questioning his jurisdictional authority. Now, Buzbee is conceding that his admission status has become a distraction, shifting attention away from the alleged victims.

    What Happens to the Lawsuits?

Even though Buzbee is stepping back, the lawsuits against Diddy will continue. New York-based law firms will still represent the plaintiffs, ensuring that the cases remain active.

Buzbee’s Next Moves: More Lawsuits Coming

While withdrawing from SDNY, Buzbee is not backing down entirely. He remains the lead attorney on New York state cases and has plans to file more lawsuits in Nevada and California.

Buzbee also claims his SDNY admission delay stems from Jay-Z filing a grievance against him in a separate case. However, he insists he is a licensed New York attorney in good standing and can still practice in the Eastern District of New York.

    The Bigger Picture

This development gives Diddy’s legal team a temporary win, but the sex trafficking lawsuits remain a serious threat. With new cases on the horizon, the battle is far from over.

    Stay tuned for more updates.
