Druski says his career changed “almost immediately” after Drake gave him a major opportunity in the rapper’s 2020 music video for “Laugh Now Cry Later.”
During an appearance on Steven Bartlett’s The Diary of a CEO podcast, the comedian reflected on the moment that helped take him from a rising internet personality to a much bigger name in mainstream pop culture.
Druski had already been building an audience through his comedy content online when he appeared in Drake’s music video, which also featured high-profile athletes and celebrities.
Looking back, Druski said he remains grateful that Drake was willing to give him the opportunity.
“I can’t believe he took a chance on me,” Druski said.
For Druski, the appearance represented more than simply landing a spot in a major music video. He described it as a significant endorsement at a point when he was still establishing himself outside the internet.

The comedian also discussed the relentless work ethic behind his ambitions, saying plenty of people talk about wanting success because “it sounds good,” while far fewer are willing to put in the work required to reach the top.
The Drake collaboration arrived at a pivotal point in that journey. The visibility from “Laugh Now Cry Later” introduced Druski to audiences beyond his existing online following and helped broaden his profile across entertainment.
Since then, he has expanded his comedy brand through projects including Coulda Been Records, as well as major brand partnerships and live entertainment ventures.
Druski now has an established presence across comedy and pop culture, but he has continued to point back to the early opportunities that helped accelerate his rise.
And when reflecting on that turning point, he credits Drake for taking a chance on him when it mattered.
