Eminem had a surprising vision for his breakout film 8 Mile—he wanted Mariah Carey to play his on-screen mother. According to music producer and former radio exec Damizza, the rapper was adamant about involving the pop icon in the project.
Speaking on the TFU Podcast, Damizza revealed that Eminem pushed for a private meeting with Carey back when the film was in early development.
“I’m not getting in the middle of that. I know how this ends,” Damizza recalled, saying he was hesitant from the jump.
