The Memphis rap scene is buzzing as Pooh Shiesty is finally home. Gucci Mane was among the first to welcome his 1017 Records artist back, posting on Instagram:

“Welcome home @poohshiesty The MainSlime is back,” accompanied by several cold-face emojis.

Fans quickly joined in on the celebration, flooding social media with messages of support for the “Back In Blood” rapper after his early release.

    The Homecoming

Born Lontrell D. Williams, Pooh Shiesty served roughly three years of his 63-month federal sentence. Clips from the celebration show him smiling, flashing stacks of cash, and toasting champagne with friends and family. Social media lit up with excitement as fans marked the rapper’s long-awaited return.

⚖️ Legal Victory and Second Act

Pooh Shiesty’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, shared a statement with XXL about the release:

“I am elated that Pooh has been released after 3 years. The government fought hard to give him 10, but after listening to the case, the Judge agreed with us that it was not appropriate and gave him a sentence that resulted in him serving 3 years. I know he will come back bigger than ever and definitely learned from this experience. He is excited to start the next chapter of his story.”

Cohen added that Pooh Shiesty’s early release marks the beginning of what he calls “his second act”, expressing confidence that the rapper will return stronger than ever.

    The Case Behind the Headlines

Shiesty’s legal troubles began in 2020 with a robbery case, which later connected to a 2021 Miami strip club shooting. In 2022, he pled guilty to conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes. Originally scheduled for release in April 2026, the rapper’s early freedom has fans speculating about what’s next for his career.

    Fans and Rap Community React

Social media erupted with support, with fellow artists and fans celebrating his return. Gucci Mane’s shoutout set the tone, emphasizing the strong ties within 1017 Records and the Memphis rap community. Many are already anticipating new music from the rapper, hopeful that this chapter of his life will translate into creative momentum.
