Gunna Reinvents Himself With ‘The Last Wun’ and Wunna Run 5K

Gunna is turning a new page. With the release of The Last Wun, the rapper officially closes his run under Young Thug’s Young Stoner Life (YSL) label, using the project as both a musical milestone and a declaration of personal reinvention.

The album spotlights Gunna’s focus on wellness, resilience, and giving back, reflecting his evolution since his release from Fulton County Jail in 2022.

From Music to Movement: The Wunna Run 5K

This fall, Gunna will host the Wunna Run 5K in Brooklyn, partnering with NYCRUNS and his nonprofit, Gunna’s Great Giveaway. The race is free to enter and open to runners of all levels, though participants are encouraged to fundraise for charity through an online platform. Registration is already live, signaling a major community initiative beyond the music world.

“Survival is not only a theme of my music but a lived practice,” Gunna said, framing the run as a way to inspire wellness and resilience.

    Wellness and Entrepreneurship

Gunna’s personal transformation is evident in his daily life. The music video for “Won’t Stop” showcased his training routines, reflecting a broader commitment to health and discipline.

Beyond fitness, he has invested in wellness brands like Flerish, a hydration company, and Cymbiotika, which specializes in supplements. These pursuits mirror the themes in The Last Wun, where he reflects on perseverance and ambition in an industry marked by rapid rises and steep challenges.

    Music Meets Activism

The Wunna Run 5K is more than a fun run—it’s an extension of Gunna’s story post-YSL and post-RICO plea deal. On The Last Wun, he blends introspection and defiance, confronting the tension between survival and ambition.

Rap legends Fat Joe and Jadakiss praised Gunna for bridging music and wellness in ways few artists have attempted, highlighting the album and race as part of a broader vision of cultural influence.

Scheduled for September 3 at 6 p.m., the Wunna Run is intended to reframe celebrity impact, turning star power into community engagement, health promotion, and shared resilience.

    Redefining Success

For Gunna, success is no longer measured solely in records sold or streams counted. Instead, he is building communities, promoting health, and inspiring perseverance—all while continuing to push his craft to new heights.

Through running, recording, and outreach, Gunna is redefining what it means to thrive in music and life, demonstrating that survival, wellness, and community can go hand in hand with artistry.
