Renowned singer Joanita Zachariassen has officially settled back in Uganda and is set to flood the airwaves with a series of unreleased tracks. The Denmark-based Ugandan artist, who made a name for herself on international stages, is now focused on redefining her musical journey in her home country.
A New Chapter in Uganda
Zachariassen, widely celebrated for her electrifying performances and powerful vocals, made the decision to return to Uganda permanently. Having spent years building a successful career in Denmark, she now aims to cement her presence in Uganda’s vibrant music industry.
At a recent press conference, she disclosed that she has been working on multiple unreleased projects, which she plans to unveil in the coming months. While fans have been eagerly anticipating an album, she confirmed that a full studio album will only be released in 2026.
A Fresh Sound for the Industry
Zachariassen is determined to introduce a fresh and unique sound to the Ugandan music scene. Her upcoming singles, set to drop this year, promise to blend different musical influences, reflecting her diverse experiences performing on global stages.
“I plan to release more singles this year, and we can work on an album next year. There are many songs I have done, and we shall be releasing most of them in the coming months,” she shared.
Her decision to delay the album until 2026 stems from her desire to perfect her craft and gradually introduce her evolving sound to Ugandan listeners.
The Inspiration Behind Her Music
One of the driving forces behind Zachariassen’s music is her personal life. She openly shared that her 12-year marriage plays a significant role in shaping her songwriting.
“My family is here with me. We are all here to stay. We have been married for 12 years, so many of my love songs are inspired by my happy marriage,” she revealed.
