Joaquin Phoenix’s Car Stolen from L.A. Home — LAPD Investigating

Oscar-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix is dealing with a real-life crime scene — his car was stolen from outside his Los Angeles-area home earlier this week. Known for playing the infamous villain in The Joker, Phoenix may not be laughing now, but authorities are already working the case.

    Theft Caught Phoenix Off Guard

According to law enforcement sources, Phoenix wasn’t home on Monday afternoon when his 2022 Volvo SUV — worth approximately $60,000 — vanished from the street near his residence. One of his employees reportedly discovered the vehicle was missing and immediately contacted the LAPD to report the theft.

Police confirmed that a stolen vehicle report was filed, but so far, no arrests have been made. The investigation remains open and ongoing.

A Quiet Year for The Joker Star

The car theft comes during a relatively low-profile period for Phoenix. Though he’s remained out of the public eye recently, he made headlines last year with his return to the big screen in Joker: Folie à Deux, reprising his role as Arthur Fleck alongside Lady Gaga, who portrayed Harley Quinn (a.k.a. Harleen Quinzel).

Phoenix’s portrayal of the disturbed comic book character in the 2019 original Joker earned him widespread acclaim and an Academy Award for Best Actor. The 2024 sequel has been one of his most anticipated follow-up projects, again earning buzz for its dark tone and musical elements.

    Authorities Searching for Leads

While there are currently no leads or suspects in custody, the LAPD is actively investigating the incident. It remains unclear whether the theft was random or if Phoenix was specifically targeted.

We reached out to representatives for Joaquin Phoenix, but as of now, there’s been no official comment from the actor or his team.
