Julius Kyazze Puts Winnie Nwagi Exit Rumors to Rest, Confirms Swangz Avenue’s Future Plans

Swangz Avenue co-founder Julius Kyazze has officially addressed the speculation surrounding Winnie Nwagi’s status at the record label, confirming that the celebrated singer is still under their management. His statement comes amid widespread rumors suggesting that Nwagi had parted ways with the label that has played a pivotal role in shaping her career.

During an interview on NBS After 5, Kyazze set the record straight, emphasizing that Swangz Avenue maintains a strong working relationship with the ‘Musawo’ hitmaker.

“Winnie Nwagi is still at Swangz Avenue. We work with her in different ways—we distribute her music, handle her bookings, and manage her endorsements,” he explained.

Kyazze further elaborated that Swangz Avenue’s contracts with artists evolve over time, and while adjustments may be made, any major changes regarding Nwagi’s arrangement with the label would be communicated officially.

Swangz Avenue’s Expansion and New Artiste Signing

Beyond clarifying Nwagi’s position, Kyazze revealed that Swangz Avenue is currently expanding into new markets as part of its long-term growth strategy. He hinted at the signing of a new artist in Tanzania, adding to the label’s growing influence beyond Uganda.

“We have major plans beyond Uganda, and we are already making moves in Tanzania. We will be unveiling a new artist soon,” Kyazze disclosed.

Swangz Avenue, one of Uganda’s most prominent record labels, has been instrumental in developing the careers of several top artists, including Vinka, Azawi, and Nwagi herself. The label continues to shape the East African music scene, ensuring that Ugandan talent receives regional and global recognition.

Winnie Nwagi’s Influence and Future Prospects

Winnie Nwagi, who joined Swangz Avenue in 2014 after emerging as a standout talent from the Coca-Cola Rated Next competition, has since built an impressive music catalog, featuring hit songs like Jangu, Matala, Sasi Ku Nyama, and Magic. Her energetic performances and bold personality have made her one of Uganda’s most loved and talked-about artists.

With confirmation that she remains signed to Swangz Avenue, fans can expect more exciting projects and collaborations from Nwagi in the near future. Meanwhile, the label’s expansion into Tanzania signals a promising new chapter for East African music lovers.
