Lil Wayne is breathing new life into Young Money Entertainment, unveiling a reimagined artist roster that blends fresh faces with familiar names. Originally launched in the early 2010s, the iconic label catapulted artists like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Jae Millz, and Gudda Gudda into stardom. Over the years, Euro and Cory Gunz joined the fold—and in 2025, they’ll continue to represent Young Money alongside long-time affiliate Lil Twist.
On a recent episode of Young Money Radio via Apple Music, Wayne introduced the label’s refreshed lineup: Jay Jones, Allan Cubas, Domiio, Poppy, and Lucifena. This strategic move signals a bold new creative direction for the label as it evolves with the times.
Anticipation is also building for Lil Wayne’s highly awaited album Tha Carter VI, set for release on June 6. The album artwork revisits the nostalgic imagery of his past works, showcasing a baby version of Weezy adorned with his signature face tattoos—a nod to the legacies of Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV.
A Star-Studded Tracklist with Global Appeal
In a recent Rolling Stone interview, Lil Wayne revealed an eclectic and high-profile list of collaborators on Tha Carter VI. Pop superstar Miley Cyrus, U2 frontman Bono, and classical music legend Andrea Bocelli are among the standout names. Additional features include Machine Gun Kelly, dancehall icon Elephant Man, and a special appearance by Wayne’s 15-year-old son, Kameron.
Production on the album is equally stacked, with contributions from Wyclef Jean, Wheezy, and potentially Kanye West. Wyclef is also spearheading a creative collective with Wayne called Gumbo, which unites influential New Orleans artists like Jon Batiste, Ledisi, Trombone Shorty, and PJ Morton.
A Musical Legacy in the Making
Reflecting on his evolving sound and bold collaborations, Wayne said:
“If there’s one thing about this album that’s different, it’s me approaching it like, ‘Man, what would I sound like on something with such and such?’”
He also hinted at a possible sequel to his 2006 collaborative project Like Father, Like Son with Birdman. This time, though, Wayne envisions including his teenage sons—Kameron, Dwayne III, and Neal—who are each carving out their own paths in music.
