    Rock Legends Unite for Ozzy

The 2025 MTV VMAs delivered one of the night’s most emotional moments when Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and rising rocker YUNGBLUD joined forces to honor the late Ozzy Osbourne.

The tribute came just weeks after the Prince of Darkness passed away in July, marking the end of an era in rock history.

    Jack Osbourne’s Heartfelt Message

Before the performances began, a prerecorded video message from Jack Osbourne and his family set the tone. While Jack admitted they couldn’t attend the show in person, he thanked fans worldwide for the “outpouring of love” that’s surrounded the Osbournes since Ozzy’s death.

It was a tender reminder that even though Ozzy is gone, his legacy lives on through his family and his music.

    YUNGBLUD Shreds “Crazy Train”

Kicking off the musical tribute, YUNGBLUD stormed the stage with a high-voltage rendition of “Crazy Train.” The English singer, who’s quickly becoming one of rock’s biggest young stars, channeled Ozzy’s raw energy — electrifying the VMAs crowd with every scream and strum.

Social media exploded instantly, with fans calling YUNGBLUD’s cover “the perfect torch-passing moment.”

Steven Tyler & Joe Perry Slow It Down

The night shifted gears when Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry took the stage for a stripped-down performance of Ozzy’s classic “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”

Tyler, who has faced well-documented vocal struggles in recent years, pushed his voice to the limit — reaching for soaring notes and pouring his soul into every lyric.

“Steven gave EVERYTHING he had left for Ozzy tonight,” one fan tweeted. “You could feel the love.”

    Steven Tyler’s Voice Battle

Tyler’s performance carried extra weight. In 2023, sources revealed his vocal cords were “mangled,” forcing Aerosmith to cancel tours despite months of work with top doctors.

While he rarely sings at full capacity anymore, Tyler made it clear this tribute was non-negotiable. For Ozzy, he wasn’t holding back.

A Final Farewell to the Prince of Darkness

Ozzy’s death in July — just weeks after his last performance in Birmingham, England — sent shockwaves across the music world. Artists from Lady Gaga to Cyndi Lauper rushed to honor him, reflecting his cross-genre influence.

The VMAs tribute was another reminder that Ozzy’s impact can’t be overstated. From heavy metal godfather to cultural icon, his music continues to inspire new generations.

    Fans React to the Tribute

    • “I’m crying. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry honoring Ozzy? History.”
    • “YUNGBLUD was insane — Ozzy would’ve been proud.”
    • “That ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ hit different knowing Ozzy’s gone.”

The performance immediately started trending on X (formerly Twitter), with the hashtag #OzzyTribute climbing into the night’s top moments.

    Ozzy’s Legacy Lives On

Though the Prince of Darkness is gone, tributes like this prove his influence will never fade. From stadium rock anthems to intimate ballads, Ozzy defined what it means to be larger than life.

And thanks to friends like Tyler and Perry — and new-school rebels like YUNGBLUD — his fire burns brighter than ever.
