Tekashi 6ix9ine found himself in the middle of yet another legal storm as federal authorities and local law enforcement raided his Florida mansion on Wednesday morning (Oct. 9).
Speaking to TMZ, the rapper claimed that law enforcement seized firearms and drugs from his home, though he insists he has done nothing illegal and is merely “chilling” while on house arrest.
Inside the Raid
According to 6ix9ine, officers kept him in handcuffs from 9 AM to 3 PM while they searched the property, turning it upside down in search of evidence.
Authorities reportedly took DNA samples from the rapper, attempting to link him to the guns and drugs allegedly found at the scene.
However, the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office confirmed to TMZ that the raid was part of a U.S. Probation check, with narcotics investigators assisting federal agents in executing a search warrant.
Was Tekashi Arrested?
Despite the serious nature of the raid, Tekashi was not arrested due to a lack of immediate probable cause. The sheriff’s office stated that any evidence collected requires further analysis, and at this time, they cannot confirm Tekashi’s claim that guns and drugs were recovered.
Tekashi’s Response
The controversial rapper maintains that he has not been involved in any criminal activity, and he believes the search was excessive.
With investigations ongoing, it remains to be seen whether the confiscated items will lead to criminal charges against 6ix9ine.
