The hip-hop community is mourning a devastating loss. China Walker, one-half of the rap duo Cam & China, has died at just 30 years old after a private two-year battle with a rare and aggressive form of ovarian cancer.

Her twin sister and groupmate, Cam Walker, announced the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram post on July 2, sharing that the pair had kept China’s diagnosis out of the public eye until her passing.

“She’s Resting Peacefully Now” – Cam Walker’s Heartbreaking Tribute

Cam’s message to fans revealed the depth of her grief and the strength her sister showed during her fight.

“Most don’t know, China has been fighting a rare, aggressive ovarian cancer for 2 years,” Cam wrote. “Tonight, she transitioned and is now resting peacefully. Give me time to grieve in peace, but know she loved all our supporters.”

Alongside her words, Cam posted a photo of the two sisters together, capturing their unbreakable bond.

In a powerful reminder to her followers, she added:

“Check on yo people, you never know what they are going thru until it’s too late.”

    A Rising Duo From Inglewood

Cam & China emerged on the music scene in 2016 with their self-titled EP, gaining attention for their sharp lyrics and undeniable chemistry. Hailing from Inglewood, California, the twins carved out a lane in hip-hop, balancing raw storytelling with their close-knit connection as sisters.

Their music and presence resonated with fans who admired their authenticity and dynamic energy.

    Ovarian Cancer: A Silent Killer

China’s passing also sheds light on the devastating toll of ovarian cancer, often called a “silent killer” because its symptoms are subtle and easily overlooked.

According to the American Cancer Society, ovarian cancer ranks fifth among cancer deaths for women, and early detection remains challenging. Symptoms like bloating, pelvic pain, and changes in appetite are often mistaken for less serious conditions, allowing the disease to progress undetected.

Privacy Requested During This Difficult Time

Cam has not yet shared details about memorial services or whether she plans to continue releasing music. She’s asked for privacy as she mourns the loss of her sister and creative partner.

Fans and fellow artists have flooded social media with tributes and condolences, honoring China’s talent and sending love to Cam during this unimaginable time.

A Legacy of Sisterhood and Strength

Though Cam & China’s time together was cut tragically short, their music and story have left an indelible mark.

As fans grieve, many are revisiting the duo’s early work and sharing clips of their performances as a way to honor China’s memory.

Our hearts go out to Cam and all of China’s loved ones.
