The music industry is in mourning following the tragic passing of Ashna Lweri, a young Congolese musician widely known for her 2024 collaboration “Nahaso” with Ugandan rapper Fik Fameica.
An official statement from her management confirmed the devastating news on Thursday, February 27, 2025, marking a heartbreaking end to a promising musical career that had only just begun.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of the young and talented Congolese musician, Ashna Lweri,” read the obituary notice from her management.
The Tragic Incident
Born on March 15, 2020, Ashna Lweri’s life was cut short when she tragically perished in a house fire at her residence in Kampala, Uganda.
The fire, reportedly caused by an electrical fault, broke out late at night while Ashna was asleep in her bedroom. Despite efforts to rescue her, the young musician succumbed to the flames.

Her mother, who desperately tried to save her, sustained severe burns and is currently receiving intensive medical treatment.
“As Ashna Lweri’s manager, I am devastated by this loss. Ashna was an exceptional artist, full of talent and passion. She had a promising future ahead of her, and her passing is an irreparable loss for Congolese, African, and international music,” her manager shared in an emotional statement.
