Renowned Kadongo Kamu artist Willy Mukabya has made a life-changing decision, officially declaring himself a born-again Christian and establishing his own church. His spiritual journey, which has been years in the making, has now taken center stage in his life, with his 19 children forming the first congregation of his new ministry.
A Long-Ignored Calling Finally Answered
For years, Mukabya felt a deep spiritual calling but initially chose to overlook it, focusing instead on his music career. However, he now acknowledges that the signs were always there, guiding him toward a path of ministry.
“I dedicated myself to serving God through my music, but He has constantly shown me that He wants me to serve Him through preaching and pastoring His children,” Mukabya revealed.
The singer admitted that he was hesitant at first, questioning his worthiness for such a divine mission. However, he continued to encounter people who recognized his spiritual gifts and encouraged him to take his place in God’s service.
“At first, I did not feel worthy, but slowly, God kept revealing His purpose for me. Everywhere I went, people would tell me I was anointed. I could no longer ignore the signs,” he added.
Music as a Form of Ministry
Mukabya, a celebrated figure in the Kadongo Kamu music genre, believes that his music career was always a form of ministry in itself. Through his songs, he has inspired and uplifted countless people over the years.
“As I spent time on stage, I realized that my music was already a way of pastoring. I was spreading messages of hope, resilience, and faith through my lyrics. Now that I have officially built a church, I will continue doing the same, but in an even more profound way,” he explained.
A New Chapter Begins
With his newfound faith, Mukabya is committed to leading his congregation and spreading God’s word to as many people as possible. His decision to found a church marks a significant transition in his life, but he believes it is the natural next step in fulfilling his divine mission.
“My 19 children are my first congregation, and I will guide them spiritually before extending the ministry to a larger audience,” he said.
Mukabya joins a growing list of Ugandan entertainers who have turned to religion after years in the entertainment industry. His transformation serves as an inspiration to many, proving that faith and purpose can lead to new and fulfilling paths.
As he embarks on this new spiritual journey, Mukabya remains optimistic and dedicated, believing that his new mission will have an even greater impact than his music career ever did.
