Kanye West’s tumultuous relationship with Drake has taken yet another unexpected twist. In a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday (March 5), the Donda rapper expressed admiration for his longtime rival and even went as far as saying he wants Drake to speak at his funeral.
“I saw a video of Drake walking through his house and showing he had a library of rhyme books. Man, I wish I could have seen and remembered this when my jealousy overtook me,” Ye admitted. “I love Drake.”
The Chicago artist then made a startling request: “I’ma say this—when I die, I need you to speak at [my] funeral.”

Despite previously taking aim at the Certified Lover Boy artist, Ye now seems to be rallying behind him—especially in the wake of Drake’s ongoing lyrical battle with Kendrick Lamar. In a recent conversation with Justin LaBoy, Ye shared his thoughts on the feud, confessing that he was disappointed by Kendrick’s takedown of Drake.
“I was like, ‘Man, you killed my nemesis. Where’s the movies if it ain’t no Drake?’” he said, drawing a comparison to superhero films where major characters disappear for a while. “Or at least he took him down for a little bit. Maybe it’s like in superhero films where characters like Wolverine or something just go away for a couple films.”
