Yung Miami is turning up the heat on “Spend Dat,” and she’s bringing Lil Baby and Kodak Black along for the remix.
The former City Girls star announced Wednesday that the highly anticipated version of the track will arrive Friday, Aug. 28, giving fans a new lineup for a song that has already made noise on the Billboard Hot 100.
“Wham & Yak WTF IS UPPPPPP!! Spend Dat Remix OUT THIS FRIDAY!” Yung Miami, whose real name is Caresha Brownlee, wrote on social media, using Lil Baby and Kodak Black’s nicknames.
The collaboration comes after Yung Miami spent months building out the “Spend Dat” concept. In May, she released several alternate versions of the song, including “Fast,” “Booster,” “Scammer” and “Baller.”
Now, the official remix is bringing two major rap names into the mix.
Lil Baby adds another heavyweight presence to the record, while Kodak Black’s inclusion carries a much more complicated history with Yung Miami.
The two Florida rappers have had a turbulent past. In 2019, while Kodak Black was incarcerated, he released a freestyle containing threatening lyrics directed at Yung Miami, who was pregnant at the time. The lyrics referenced a previous relationship and included threats involving her unborn child.
That history makes Kodak’s appearance on the “Spend Dat” remix particularly notable, turning what could have been a straightforward collaboration into a reunion carrying years of context.
Public concern surrounding Yung Miami intensified later that year after her vehicle was targeted in a drive-by shooting outside Circle House Studios in North Miami-Dade.
The new remix arrives with fans having previously speculated that Drake could appear on the track. Instead, Yung Miami has officially confirmed Lil Baby and Kodak Black as the featured artists.
The release also represents another step in Yung Miami’s solo run following the hiatus of the City Girls. The rapper has continued developing her identity outside the duo, with “Spend Dat” emerging as one of her recent solo releases.
Fans can expect the “Spend Dat Remix” to hit major streaming platforms at midnight Friday.
For Yung Miami, the guest list is now official—and the Kodak Black appearance gives this remix an extra layer of history before the song even drops.
