Sherri Shepherd has finally spoken out about the end of her Fox-syndicated daytime show, Sherri, after four seasons—but there’s a twist: she’s been sidelined by COVID.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Feb. 3, Shepherd expressed gratitude for the “outpouring of support” from fans while explaining her absence from the conversation surrounding the show’s cancellation.
“Wow! I am completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for me and The @sherrishowtv. You might’ve noticed that yesterday and today, I was struggling because I wasn’t feeling up to speed. Well, it turns out I have Covid. As soon as I feel better and return to the show, I will address all of the news that has come out,” she wrote.
“Until then, I am truly grateful that SHERRI has made such an impact on you! See ya soon❤️.”

Fellow host Tamron Hall shared words of encouragement, celebrating Shepherd’s accomplishments across comedy, writing, podcasting, and daytime television:
“You just wrote your first children’s book. And you are on an epic comedy tour, you have a podcast, and you took over a daytime space and made it your own… I’m tired just listing all you have done! And the list of next chapter moments will be amazing ✈️❤️ love you, Family.”
The supportive message underscores Shepherd’s influence and resilience in the entertainment space.
The End of Sherri
As previously reported, Sherri is concluding after four seasons, with production of Season 4 continuing as planned. The show’s final episodes are slated to air in the fall of 2026.
When the series was picked up last season, Frank Cicha, Fox TV Stations’ executive vice president of programming, described it as “a linchpin of our daytime lineup.”
Shepherd has often spoken about the personal connection she shares with her audience:
“I don’t take it for granted that people welcome me into their homes daily,” she said last year.
“And I work so hard to bring escapism to viewers’ lives through joy, laughter, and inspiration. I’m grateful that the audience has embraced what we do. I look forward to raising the bar and turning up the volume as we plan for our season four return.”
