Quavo is looking ahead to a new solo era — but he’s making it clear that Migos is still very much part of the conversation.
The rapper stopped by HOT 97 to talk with Nessa about his upcoming album QRÖME LIFE, his creative partnership with Pharrell Williams and what could be next for Migos.
QRÖME LIFE arrives October 2, with Pharrell producing the entire project. Quavo explained how working with the legendary producer pushed him creatively and helped shape the album.
The collaboration has already produced plenty of memorable moments, including a Disneyland trip involving Pharrell and Justin Timberlake.
But Quavo had much more than his solo album on his mind.
He discussed his new song “Backwards” featuring T.I., Jermaine Dupri’s involvement and even weighed in on who he would want for a 2026 remake of “Welcome to Atlanta.”
The Migos legacy also came up — particularly the group’s relationship with Drake.
Quavo discussed Drake sampling classic Migos ad-libs on “Shabang” and recalled how the Toronto superstar helped the group early in their career by giving Migos equal splits.
He also reflected on “Versace,” the 2013 hit that helped change the trajectory of Migos’ career.
And then there’s the reunion fans have been waiting for.
Quavo opened up about recently getting back in the studio with Offset, offering another indication that the former Migos members are rebuilding their musical relationship.
The conversation also touched on whether fans could eventually get another Migos album — as well as a potential Unc & Phew 2 project featuring Quavo and Takeoff’s former duo.
Quavo also questioned whether Migos has received enough credit for helping reshape the sound of modern hip-hop, a particularly relevant discussion given the trio’s influence on the trap and streaming eras.
Beyond Migos, the rapper reflected on Young Thug wanting him to join YSL, artists using AI to make music and the possibility of stepping inside a WWE ring.
And because it wouldn’t be a proper Quavo interview without the ad-libs, he ranked some of Migos’ most recognizable vocal tags and participated in a “Quavo or Pharrell?” game with Nessa.
One thing is clear: Quavo may be focused on QRÖME LIFE, but the Migos story isn’t finished yet.
