Kim Kardashian is not giving up on her dream of becoming a lawyer, despite failing the California bar exam on her first attempt.
The billionaire reality star says she is still thinking about taking the challenging examination again but wants to make sure she has enough time to prepare before returning to the testing room.
Speaking to PEOPLE at the New York City premiere of All’s Fair Season 2, Kardashian revealed that the bar exam remains on her mind even as her busy schedule makes it difficult to dedicate enough time to studying.
“I am always thinking about the bar,” she said.
However, Kardashian explained that she would rather wait until her professional commitments allow her to focus properly on preparing for another attempt.
“I’m going to take my time and wait until the moment is right, when I have some free time to focus on it,” she added.
Kardashian has spent several years working toward her legal ambitions, pursuing an alternative route to legal qualification through California’s Law Office Study Program, commonly known as “reading the law.”

She began her legal studies in 2019 and completed the four-year program in 2025. In May that year, she celebrated finishing the programme with a backyard graduation ceremony shared by her family.
Her journey has not been without setbacks. Kardashian passed California’s First-Year Law Students’ Examination, popularly known as the Baby Bar, in 2021 after four attempts.
After completing her legal studies, she sat for the California Bar Exam in July 2025. However, she revealed in November that she had not passed.
Despite the disappointment, her latest comments suggest she remains committed to pursuing the profession rather than walking away from the ambition.
Kardashian has previously spoken about the possibility of eventually stepping away from her celebrity persona to concentrate on becoming a trial lawyer.
For now, she appears focused on balancing her entertainment and business commitments with the possibility of returning to her law books.
Her next bar exam attempt has not been scheduled, but Kardashian says the ambition is still very much alive.
