Big Eye Announces Political Ambitions for Nansana Municipality MP Seat
Recently, Big Muzik Entertainment boss Ibrahim Mayanja, popularly known as Big Eye, declared his intention to run for the Nansana Municipality MP seat in the 2026-2031 general elections.
In his political journey, Big Eye will be competing against the incumbent Hon. Hannington Wakayima Musoke and news anchor Zambali Bulasio Mukasa, both of whom are eyeing the National Unity Platform (NUP) party ticket.
Amooti Omubalanguzi Weighs in on Big Eye’s Ambitions
As Big Eye’s political aspirations make headlines, veteran comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi shared his perspective, revealing why he did not contest for the same seat in the previous general elections.
Amooti explained that at the time he developed an interest in the race, he discovered that NUP had already allocated the party ticket to another candidate.
“I was going to contest for the same seat, but by the time I showed interest, I found out that the umbrella had already been given out,” Amooti revealed.
He further narrated how he contemplated running as an independent candidate with a ‘Mushroom’ as his symbol but later decided against it, realizing it wouldn’t work for him.
Big Eye Encouraged to Address Nansana’s Challenges
While reflecting on Big Eye’s political aspirations, Amooti advised him to deeply understand the challenges facing the people of Nansana Municipality and develop a clear manifesto to address them.
“If Big Eye is serious about vying for the Nansana Municipality MP seat, let him come. If elected, I believe he will be in a position to help solve some of the pressing issues we are facing,” Amooti remarked.
He also urged Big Eye to prioritize helping the people in Lubigi and those whose homes were vandalized by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA).
As the 2026 elections draw closer, it remains to be seen how Big Eye will navigate the political landscape and whether his entertainment industry influence will translate into political success.
