Druski is setting the record straight about where he stood during the explosive Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud, making it clear that his loyalty to Drake was never about choosing sides in hip-hop.
In a new cover story with GQ, the Atlanta-born comedian addressed the speculation surrounding his friendship with Drake and the viral moments that led fans to question whether he deliberately distanced himself from Kendrick Lamar.
“That’s my brother. I don’t care about what’s hot at the moment or what’s going on,” Druski said of Drake.
The comedian emphasized that his position came down to friendship and loyalty rather than music-industry politics.
“I’m big on loyalty,” Druski explained, making it clear that he intended to stand by someone he considers a close friend regardless of the circumstances surrounding the highly publicized rap battle.
Druski Says His Loyalty To Drake Is Personal
Druski and Drake’s relationship goes back several years, with the comedian making a memorable appearance in Drake’s 2020 music video for “Laugh Now Cry Later.”
At the time, Druski was still building his reputation through viral comedy sketches and was beginning to transition into mainstream entertainment.
The collaboration became an important early connection for the comedian, who has credited Drake with embracing his talent as his career began taking off.
That history became relevant again after Drake and Kendrick Lamar became embroiled in one of hip-hop’s most closely watched feuds.

Did Druski Avoid Kendrick Lamar?
Speculation surrounding Druski intensified after viral footage from an awards show in June 2025 appeared to show the comedian avoiding Kendrick backstage.
Some social media users interpreted the moment as evidence that Druski was intentionally keeping his distance from Kendrick to avoid appearing disloyal to Drake.
Druski strongly rejected that interpretation.
“That was not intentional,” he said, laughing during the GQ interview.

Rather than deliberately snubbing Kendrick, Druski suggested the viral footage was simply another example of social media users interpreting a short clip through the lens of an ongoing celebrity feud.

The comedian is set to appear in “The Catch,” an upcoming baseball-themed romantic comedy starring Emma Stone and Chris Pine. The movie is directed by Dave McCary.
Stone praised Druski’s approach to the production, describing him as “incredibly generous” and highlighting how he frequently uses “we” rather than “I” when discussing creative work.
That collaborative mentality appears to be carrying Druski from his viral comedy roots into Hollywood.
For now, however, his message about Drake is straightforward: whatever happens in hip-hop, he considers Drake his friend.
And according to Druski, loyalty does not change simply because the internet starts picking sides.
