Justin Timberlake could be preparing for his next major music era.
The pop superstar is reportedly working on new music and a world tour for 2027, with the project potentially titled “The Next Move,” according to a new report.
The buzz comes shortly after Timberlake made a surprise return to the stage in Miami, where he joined Don Toliver during a performance and gave fans another glimpse of the veteran entertainer in concert.
If the reported plans come together, the new project would follow Timberlake’s 2024 album, Everything I Thought It Was.
While that album had a more modest commercial run compared with some of Timberlake’s earlier releases, his subsequent Forget Tomorrow World Tour demonstrated that there remains significant demand for the singer as a live performer. The trek sold more than one million tickets before being extended.
According to Showbiz411, sources claim Timberlake has started putting together what could become his most ambitious project yet. The reported tour could begin as early as March 2027.
A 2027 return would also come after a challenging stretch for Timberlake.
In 2025, the singer revealed that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease. Timberlake said the condition caused significant pain and fatigue while he was performing and acknowledged uncertainty about his future onstage.
The possibility of another album and world tour now suggests Timberlake could be preparing to move into a new chapter of his career.
Still, there are plenty of unanswered questions.
Timberlake has not publicly confirmed the reported album title, “The Next Move,” or the 2027 tour. There is also no confirmed release date, track list or list of collaborators.
Longtime collaborator Timbaland could potentially be involved, while speculation about an *NSYNC reunion continues. Joey Fatone recently indicated that an *NSYNC reunion was not happening anytime soon.
For now, Timberlake appears to be looking ahead.
After more than two decades of moving between pop, R&B and dance music, a new album paired with a global tour could give the singer another opportunity to reinvent his sound and live show.
