Khalifah AgaNaga Joins Kawempe North MP Race Under FDC – Vows to Transform Lives!

Popular Ugandan singer Sadat Mukiibi, better known as Khalifah AgaNaga, has officially declared his candidacy for the Kawempe North MP by-election under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party ticket.

The singer received his endorsement from FDC party president Amuriat Oboi and other senior members of the Najjanankumbi-based political party, marking a major shift in his career from entertainment to politics.

Inspired by Bobi Wine’s Political Journey

Khalifah AgaNaga’s decision to venture into politics has drawn support and admiration from many of his fans. The singer revealed that his move was inspired by National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, who successfully transitioned from music to politics.

AgaNaga hopes to follow in the footsteps of Bobi Wine, using his platform to advocate for change and development in Kawempe North.

A Vision for Change: Khalifah AgaNaga’s Manifesto

During his endorsement ceremony at the FDC party offices, AgaNaga outlined his key priorities should he be elected as Kawempe North MP. His short manifesto focused on three key areas:

✅ Improving the Health Sector – Pledging to enhance access to better healthcare facilities for the people of Kawempe North.

✅ Upgrading Drainage Systems – Addressing the poor drainage infrastructure, which has been a persistent problem in the constituency.

✅ Empowering Struggling Mothers – Introducing small-scale business initiatives to uplift struggling mothers, ensuring they have a means of financial stability.

Ameria Nambala’s Advice to Khalifah AgaNaga

When asked about Khalifah AgaNaga’s political aspirations, fellow singer Ameria Nambala shared some words of wisdom, urging him to stay humble and focus on serving the people.

“I urge Khalifah AgaNaga to be humble because sometimes when you’re humble, certain things come easy.”

She also emphasized the importance of faith, advising him to put God first in his endeavors.

“I think he should first put God first in everything that he lays his hands on and also wish others well.”

Additionally, Ameria Nambala noted that if elected, she hopes AgaNaga will distance himself from gangs and fully focus on his responsibilities as a member of Parliament.

“I think when he is elected, he will also ditch the acts of moving around with gangs.”

A New Chapter in Khalifah AgaNaga’s Career

With his bold entry into politics, Khalifah AgaNaga joins a growing list of Ugandan artists who have taken the political route in an effort to bring change to their communities.
