Fans in Rwanda were left disappointed as the highly anticipated Born In The Wild concert featuring Nigerian sensation Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, was officially called off. Organizers have since begun working on ticket refund procedures for those who had already purchased passes.

    Cancellation Due to Regional Conflict

Last week, Tems made the difficult decision to cancel her Kigali performance, citing the ongoing conflict between Rwanda and Congo. The BET and Grammy award-winning artist took to social media to issue an apology, acknowledging that she had been insensitive in promoting her show while the region faced tensions.

“I sincerely apologize for the oversight. It was never my intention to be insensitive to the situation at hand.”

The news left many ticket holders wondering whether the event would be rescheduled at a later date.

Organizers Confirm No Rescheduling, Refunds in Progress

Addressing these concerns, BK Arena Management released an official statement confirming that Tems will not be performing in Kigali as originally planned. They reassured fans that ticket refunds are available upon request.

“Following the announced cancellation by Tems and subsequent dialogue with her management team, we regret to inform you that Tems will not be performing at BK Arena as originally scheduled.”

The management further expressed their understanding of fans’ disappointment:

“We understand your excitement for this event, and we share in your disappointment.”

    How to Get a Refund

Fans who had purchased tickets for the event can request refunds by reaching out to Centrika via WhatsApp at +250 787 272 036.

BK Arena Management concluded their statement by apologizing for any inconvenience caused and appreciating the public’s patience and understanding:

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.”

    What’s Next for Tems?

Despite the Kigali concert cancellation, Tems is still expected to continue with her Born In The Wild Tour, with fans in other regions eagerly awaiting her performances. More updates on her tour schedule and possible adjustments are anticipated in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned for further developments on Tems’ tour and other entertainment updates!
